Ontario’s Ministry of Long-Term Care invested significantly in Personal Support Workers (PSWs). This initiative is designed to attract individuals into the PSW field through clinical stipends, tuition waivers and up to $25,000 in incentives.

To be eligible for this program, the candidate must have graduated from a recognized PSW program on or after April 1, 2023, and gained employment from a publicly funded care provider in Ontario. The roles must offer at least 30 hours per week. This initiative is open to current and past Evergreen College PSW students who meet the criteria.

The Ontario government’s PSW incentive includes a clinical stipend of up to $5,440 for student placements, a $10,000 incentive for recent graduates who commit to work for 12 months in these sectors, and an additional $10,000 for those willing to relocate to designated rural, remote, or northern communities.

Evergreen College offers a rigorous PSW Certificate program aligned with industry standards. The program provides a comprehensive education in personal support work by seasoned professionals in the field. This blend of theory and practical experience prepares Evergreen graduates to excel in the PSW field.

For those interested in pursuing a career as a PSW and taking advantage of the new government incentives, Evergreen College provides the necessary education, support, and guidance to start your journey.
