If you are looking for an in-demand job that also makes a positive impact in people’s lives, you should consider a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). As a PSW, compassion for others meets job fulfillment. In this career, you will help individuals maintain their independence and quality of life.

The demand for PSWs is increasing steadily, with Ontario needing upwards of 24,000 new PSWs by 2026. The Ontario government has also introduced incentives up to $25,400. If you commit to working in a long-term care home or community provider for 12 months, you can receive $10,000. If you choose a rural location, then you can be rewarded an additional $10,000. This provides significant financial incentives to mitigate the demand for PSWs across Ontario.

At Evergreen College, our Personal Support Worker program offers in-depth training and will prepare you to thrive in this healthcare profession. Our current and past students highly recommend our program, which is designed to support your professional growth and success and is aligned with the National Association of Career College’s (NACC) curriculum. You will get a mixture of hands-on experience, theoretical understanding and skill development to meet the needs of your future clients.
