Rangga M Jati was looking for a career college that would allow him to work on weekdays and attend
classes in the evenings. Evergreen College was recommended to him based on its offering of evening
classes. Today, he is preparing for the internship component of his studies.
Below, Rangga shares details about his Evergreen experience as a student in the Business Administration
in International Trading program.
What is the best part about studying at Evergreen?
The existence of evening class.
What is the most important thing you learned at Evergreen?
Experience beats knowledge.
What career do you hope to pursue after graduation?
The technology industry would be my best bet. In general, Canadian industry adoption on technology is
actually pretty conservative based on my work experience — a lot can be worked on.
How is Evergreen preparing you for this career?
In general, the modules I learned helped me understand some of the fields that I had no idea about
before (i.e. marketing, sales and finance).
How did studying evening classes benefit you?
The most significant benefit was having a part time job on weekdays, from morning to afternoon.
What advice do you have for new students in your field?
Business administration is a dynamic field. Be flexible and open-minded when dealing with the material.
Read a lot, and remember that research is a must.
What advice do you have for future students who will pursue the same field of study?
Business administration itself is a broad concept. It’s better to be strong or specialized in specific area
(i.e. marketing or finance) and treat the other area as supplement.
